Before Boot Camp commences, Everyone will be issued with a red or blue sweat band depending on fitness levels, blue being beginners & red being intermediates.
Blues; depending on exercise will receive fewer reps, time & shorter distance
Reds; depending on exercise will receive higher reps, time & further distance
What are Burpees?
If you've heard of Burpees before, there's a good chance you love to hate them. The six-count bodyweight movement is used across the country in workouts by coaches, fitness fans, and trainers alike as an all-round conditioning exercise that gets the heart rate up. In Layman's terms, a Burpee is a squat that moves into a quick plank position, then back to standing in one quick movement.
"A Burpee is somewhat equal to a push up, good morning, air squat, and a vertical jump all in one," says Reebok Crossfit games athlete Annie Thorisdottir. If done correctly, the exercise will train the pushing muscles of the upper body, all the muscles of the lower body, and the core muscles, not too shabby, eh?
Granted different trainers and gyms will have different Burpee expectations. Thorisdottir recently gave us the lowdown on the proper way to do this hellish exercise (hey, you were thinking it, too!) as well as her top burpee benefit
Breaking it down!
Start by standing up straight, come down into a deep squat, while reaching down to touch the floor, once hands are on the floor, throw the legs straight back to form a press-up position, whole time bracing the Abs. lower your chest to the ground, (go on knees for the push-up position if needed). bring your chest back up to then bring knees into elbows to then shoot up into the air thus feet leaving the ground.

With beautiful weather and stunning scenery, we all relished an action packed, exhilarating, adrenaline pumping weekend of Gorge Walking and White Water Tubing! The atmosphere could not have been better thanks to all of you that came and made this weekend fantastic!
